Ray White celebrates 25 years in New South Wales today (Wednesday, 8 May 2013).
The 111 year old brand – the largest real estate company in Australia today – started out in the quaint rural town of Crows Nest in Queensland.
It was 25 years ago that the White family purchased approximately 35 New South Wales offices from the American owned ERA network.
Today the network spans from Albury to Armidale, Bondi to Broken Hill, Castlecrag to Castle Hill and Camden with 227 offices responsible for selling 11343 properties in 2012.
The value of those properties was $7.2billion, according to Ray White NSW CEO Stephen Nell.
“Last year we listed and sold more properties for more money via auction than any other group in the State,” Mr Nell said.
“Right now, we have more properties listed on the market than any other group.”
The chairman of the Ray White Group, Brian White, says he clearly remembers the decision to expand the company outside of Queensland.
“25 years is not too long to retain clear memories of a leading real estate group – for so long was the clear leader in Queensland – receiving increasing shocks as the ‘southerners’ steadily became more and more effective and powerful,” Chairman Brian White said.
“In the tough battleground of New South Wales we continue to be thrilled and proud with the standards and drive of our business owners. As we enter the next chapter our confidence is high.”
