Auction results were on fire this February!

By Rebecca Zhang

This weekend proved to be another success in Sydney, with a record number of houses going for auction in February. 470 properties were up for auction on Saturday, where as last year (on the same weekend) it was only 259 properties.

There are currently more buyers in the market than sellers. As a result, it is predicted that listing numbers will continue to increase in the coming weekends.

The top performer for Sydney’s suburban regions was Canterbury Bankstown, with a clearance rate of 86.7%. The city and east had clearances of 86%, whilst the inner west, the lower north and the upper north shore each had strong clearance rates of 85.2%.

A remarkable auction sale was recorded in the inner west: a six bedroom house at 13 Cameron Street Strathfield which was sold for $1.91 million.

These high results are expected to continue for the coming weekends.
